The third CTRF annual fun day was held on Sunday, 16th September 2018 at Tomlinson’s Boarding Kennel & Canine Centre, Markfield, Leicester.

The event was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves. In addition, we were able to raise funds to enable us to care for more Cairn Terriers who find themselves in need of a new home and/or veterinary care.

Here is a Chris Roberts’ report of the day:

What a lovely day??again!!? Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves and joined in with the activities.

Vannessa Byrne & ?Miss Tonka?? gave a demonstration of Rallying, which is ideal for any age of dog or owner who enjoys a more gentle pace, however a bit of basic obedience training for dog and owner would help.

Some of audience even had a go with their Cairns.

Next was the Cairntastic Obreedience Team consisting of Suzanne Drew with Oscar, Wendy Laker with Harris, Amanda????????

They each put their Cairns through specified disciplines. It was amazing to watch Cairns actually behaving?.except for Harris who decided he wanted to ?check the girls out first?!

Dawn Inett gave several Cairn trimming demonstrations throughout the day.? A number of Cairns who had got ?Skye Terrier ears? looked a lot better when Dawn had worked her magic on them.

Anne Weaver and family ran the fun dog show, which was very well attended with over 100 entries.? The ?Best Sausage catcher?? class was enjoyed by everyone and was a close decision at the end.? Sheona Fortune was our Judge for the day, she also helps at our Scottish C.T.R.F. Fun Day, which is on June 1st next year at Thornton Memorial Park near Glenrothes in Fife.
