LUCY

|

|
|
Lucy is a 10 year old unspayed wheaten bitch, she is lead
trained and house trained and is looking for a home without children under
the age of 12 years.
Her owners have a number of grandchildren who visit on a
daily basis ages ranging from 18 months to 8 years old, but Lucy is not at
all friendly towards them and has growled and snapped at them on a number
of occasions. Her owners feel that they can't keep her any longer as
they don't like shutting her away all the time when the children
visit.
She is not used to cats or other dogs, but is very
friendly towards older children and adults.
Can anyone help Lucy and give her a kind loving home for
the last few years of her life.

Can
you help me rehome my Cairn Spencer please.
Spencer is a neutered wheaten male.I have had him since a puppy and he is
now 12yrs old.
I am in the forces and I am shortly being deployed to Afghanistan and
have no option but to give him up.
He is in home with a cat and is fantastic with children. Spencer is
extremely easy going and manages two small walks a day prefering to sleep
the rest!
He is in is twilight year(s), diabetic (managed well with one daily
injection) and blind in one eye. He needs somewhere quiet to potter
around and see out his time in comfort.
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I hope someone will
love him dearly as I do.

UPDATE!!!! 18 June- Graet news They have found a new home together…
Toby and Thea (sounds like Tia).
Toby is 15, Thea is 6. They have come from the
same home following their owner's sudden and early death, so ideally we'd
love them to go together. Toby is just so cute and adorable and won't be
much trouble. He is happy sleeping, eating and being popped in the garden.
He has quite character and can show this, for example, when he
doesn't want to be groomed, but this is easily overcome. Thea is a very
gentle girl with a very kind and easy going nature. She has Addisons
Disease, however, can lead a normal life as this condition is very
well controlled with medication that she will need for the rest of her
life. In view of Toby's age and Thea's medical condition, Cairn
Terrier Relief Fund will fund veterinary treatment for her illness and for
any of Toby's future needs.

Update 16/03/09 -
Still in need of a new home
Posted 19th January
Margaret Forbes
Tel: 02838 852031 (N.Ireland) is looking for a home for a male Cairn who
was found straying on Monday 12th January. He had a chain
hanging from his neck and due to his filthy and matted condition it was
almost impossible to tell whether he was a bitch or a dog. It is
thought that he is approx. 9/10 yrs old and it can only be assumed that he
has been chained up outside quite possibly for his entire
life. Please contact Margaret if you are interested in rehoming him.

Update 18th January
These two
live in the Wirral , Merseyside. Their owners have contacted the Rescue for
help.
“ We have owned and loved these dogs for many
years and I deeply regret having to let these dogs go but I must put the
health of my daughter first and unfortunately both dogs have growled and
snapped at her over the last month. I do not blame the dogs as they are not
used to small children and the 20 month old child in question has recently
become obsessed with playing with the dogs but the child is now my
priority. i have tried introducing her to them gently and she enjoys
feeding them dog biscuits but you can see in their body language that they
are terrified of her. In the meantime I seperate the dogs from the child by
keeping them on the stairs/landing.
We would prefer the two dogs were homed together
as Joe suffers a small degree of anxiety and seems reliant on his bond with
Cassy. we are prepared to wait as long as it takes to find the right home
for these dogs.”

A real favourite
with staff at Dogs Trust Glasgow is Dougal, a 10 year old Cairn
Terrier who oozes charm with the kindest nature. He is truly in need of a
special home and is looking for someone who can provide unconditional love
and offer him a home, as he is, quirks and all! Dougal displays some
worrying behaviour including attacking his feet, which at times can be
upsetting to watch. His new home will have the support of the Dogs Trust
staff and behaviourist throughout his life to help him work through his
behaviour problems and understand him inside out.
Dougal is a happy
chap who adores getting out and about and pottering at his own place round
the field at the rehoming centre. He enjoys playing and cuddling up with
his kennel mates, and most of all he loves dinnertime! Dougal must have a
special home who can keep him entertained, a home knowelagble of the breed
would be beneficial but mostly a committed and dedicated forever home is
what is most important to him.
If you could be
just the person to make Dougal life a happy one, please call
Catriona Dogs Trust Glasgow on 0141 773 5130.
